Best Team roasters in IPL 2018

It’s only been Day 1 of the auction, yet we can already figure out the way teams have gone this year.

After 10 years of the IPL, franchises seem to have an understanding now of how it works, what they want and who is worth spending on- which is not just the big names. 2 of the biggest names of the IPL- Gayle and Malinga are unsold so far which is not so surprising now. It might still change after day 2 though. The franchises have also come with better research, keeping an eye on leagues like BBL.

Coming to the teams:

Royal Challengers Bangalore Roasters :

RCB’s biggest surprise was actually before the auction when they retained Sarfaraz. McCullum in place of Gayle is a much better choice. They already have the 3rd biggest squad with most of the bases well covered including useful buys like Woakes and Grandhomme as well as uncapped Indians- Khejroliya and Saini.

As always there batting looks almost perfect, but this time the bowling is decent too. With Virat, AB, De Kock in their ranks, batting is, and was, never a worry. They have spinners like Chahal, Washington and pacers like Woakes, Umesh which would make their team perfectly balanced.

The concerns are again that this team hasn’t performed as a cohesive unit on the field (the mingling days in IPL are short too). They would also have to adjust to a new Chinnaswamy track which is a little slow as evidenced by low scores in IPL 2017. Vohra and Mandeep haven’t performed as consistently as the team management would like them to and Umesh has a knack of leaking runs. They might struggle in the death over bowling if Coulter -Nile isn’t in form (I think Woakes and Umesh would be their opening bowlers).

It's Royal Challengers Bangalore.

RCB was always considered to be a team with best batting line-up, which was false.

No doubt, RCB had the best Batsmen in their team, that doesn't mean that we had a great line-up. That is because our team depended on Chris Gayle,Virat Kohli and ABD.

Chris Gayle was an explosive batsman, but was highly inconsistent and wasn't dependable. He couldn't run between the wickets. He wasn't a good fielder(maybe his age factor). So, RCB replaced him with McCullum, who is a powerhitter like Gayle. He also can run between the wickets like Virat Kohli.

As I mentioned earlier, the whole batting depended on these 3. All we had for middle order was weak and inexperienced Batsman, who couldn't succeed every time despite of their great efforts . Now that problem is solved by de Kock, Parthiv Patel and Vohra .

We also lacked Keepers. Now we have 2 options (de Kock and Parthiv).

Now we also have 3 overseas alrounders(Chris Woakes, Grandhomme and Moeen Ali) and Indian alrounders (Negi and Washington Sundar).

RCB always lacked in bowling. But now we have World-class Pacers- Nathan Coulter Nile and Tim Southee, as well as young gun Mohammed Siraj.

We have great spinning options, led by Chahal, M Ashwin, Moeen Ali and Negi.

RCB always lacked goodluck. If it works out this time, then definitely we'll be the Champions this time

Kolkata Knight Riders Roasters:

KKR had a quite a weird start to the auction - spending half of their money on just 4 overseas players! Rs 40 crores for Starc, Lynn, Narine and Russell. It pretty much tells you the 4 players who are going to be part of the playing 11 every single game and they certainly are among the 4 of the most valuable T20 players. But look beyond that and there isn’t too much yet while the big question of captaincy still looms.

KKR spent each and every penny in their purse buying the least number of players compared to all the other teams. They have a few explosive batsmen in Chris Lynn and Andre Russell. But the team looks off balance. And the biggest issue to be addressed by them is of captaincy. Will it be Robin Uthappa or Dinesh Karthik? I don’t see any potential captains in the team. They also seem to have made another mistake in buying Mitchell Johnson for 2 cr when they could have bought Morne Morkel for a lesser price.

Many of you will not agree with me,but I personally believe that KKR squad has full of lethal bowlers, Explosive batsman and Sensational allrounder and mixtures of young U-19 players. Alltogether a strong team on paper.

Sunil Narine :D

Only concern of this beautiful team is the lack of captaincy . After Gautam Gambhir departure, team will miss him.

But as It was his own wish to face some new challenges ,thats the reason why KKR didn’t use Right to match card (RTM) on him.

Talking about the team , it is well balanced and I feel that this team have the ability to beat the bigger teams in IPL 2018.

Aami KKR Translation : I am KKR

Kings XI Punjab Roasters :

KXIP- If KKR went after overseas players, KXIP focused on Indian players, perhaps a bit too much. I would say they overspent on K L Rahul with 11 crores and almost bought Manish Pandey for the same amount. They were lucky to get away from it. The squad doesn’t give me too much confidence as of now.

Chennai Super Kings Roasters :

CSK- The team that had a huge fan base and perhaps that was also a motivating factor in getting those old names back. And they are old (Almost everyone is over 30!) But even in past, under MSD, older players have done well- the likes of Hayden, Hussey, Murali, Nehra etc. They certainly have great Indian buys and a very promising squad. Harbhajan from Punjab now playing for Chennai and Ashwin from Chennai now playing for Punjab! Who would have thought? That’s IPL for you.

in every playing 11 of IPL must be like this: 7 Indian Players(6+1 Uncaaped) , 4 Foreigners. Here We are considering best playing 11.

Wicketkeeper:

World’s best wicketkeeper MS Dhoni!

Batsman:

Suresh Raina (Highest runs in ipl history),Murli Vijay(2 IPL centuries)/Uncapped Player ,Faf Du plessis, Ambati Rayudu

All Rounders:

Shane Watson,DJ Bravo (Death Over Specialist),Kedar Jadav, Ravindra Jadeja.

Bowlers:

Shardul Thakur,Mark wood/Imran Tahir.

This is balanced team with experience team.. So, I think best team in all department.

Delhi Daredevils Roasters :

DD- They have the 2nd biggest squad now and seem to have gotten whatever they could. While there are a few good players including Rabada, Morris and the promising Pant, as a team they certainly aren’t the best. Gambhir will need all his captaincy experience to bring them together.

Delhi Daredevils as the strongest team on paper after the conclusion of 2018 IPL auction.

  • Captain - Most likely Gambhir. His stint as a winning captain for KKR in earlier editions and his vast experience gives an edge to DD.
  • Batting- Heavily loaded batting line up includes likes of maxwell, munro, jason roy, shreyash iyer and pant. A balanced top order with Gambhir and iyer. A very strong middle order as well.
  • Fast bowling - Shami and Rabada are the biggest names. Rabada can be lethal at death.
  • Spin- DD has one the best spinners lot of the tournament. Amit Mishra, Nadeem, Jayant Yadav are going to make it tough for the batsmen. Especially at home turf in Delhi which sports spinning tracks.
  • All rounders- Morris and Christian are one if the best in this format.
  • backups- DD has managed to have considerable quality backup in all departments.

The team will be having Ponting as their head-coach. I think they’ve got someone very good there in the camp.

Promising Youth

Moving on, DD did an excellent job in getting good young players. Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer were retained. They also got the likes of Prithvi Shaw. They’ve put in faith in 17 year old Sandeep Lamichhane from Nepal. There are several other players too, the Indian fans would be eager to watch.

World-Class overseas players

DD retained Morris, who was the sole standout performer while others were not. Now that they have injected a fresh breathe within them, Morris will have the necessary support. Colin Munro, rewarded for his excellence in the T-20 with New-Zealand. Kagiso Rabada is a good T-20 bowler. They’ve got Trent Boult also. They signed Dan Christian as a backup for Morris. The overseas signings make sense.

Therefore, I feel DD is surely going to make it into the playoffs this season. Don't forget, they will be mentored by the most successful Aussie captain RICKY PONTING.

Rajasthan Royals Roasters :

RR- They have the shortest squad right now and the highest purse remaining. But already I have been pretty impressed by them. Smith as the captain, Rahane, Tripathy and Samson the Indian players and great buys of Stokes, Buttler, Short and Archer. This is the team that could surprise and go the distance. Keep an eye on them.

RR as the strongest team in upcoming season of IPL. There are following points which support my hypothesis-

Batsman:- It has some of the very best batsman in the business like-

  • Anjinkya Rahane
  • Steve Smith (captain of Australia)
  • D Arcy Short (Higest run scorer in Big Bash)
  • Rahul Tripathi

All Rounder:- Ben Stokes is a complete package of all rounding skills.

Bowler:- They have skilled bowlers like-

  • J. Archer
  • J. Udankat
  • B. Laughlin

So, RR is looking a strong team on papers. Let see what they can do in the IPL.

Mumbai Indians Roasters:

MI- Always had among the strongest squads and teams. Their talent searching skill is amazing but because of such a strong team, these talents hardly got a chance at MI and blossomed elsewhere. A pretty fantastic squad as always. A great batsman and captain in Rohit, the Pandya brothers together and the indispensable Bumrah make great Indian players along with Suryakumar (who was actually taken by MI in 2011) and young Kishan as keeper. Getting Pollard back augurs well and the Fizz could be quite handy. My favorites both personally as well as to win the tournament.

Another team that made sure that core members came back. They also got Mustafizur and Ben Cutting, two key players from SRH’s previous squad. Evin Lewis and Ishan Kishan are worth a watch. Rohit Sharma and the Pandya brothers have a major role to play. This is clearly one of the best teams this year.

Champion Mumbai Indians.

Playing 11:-

1.Evin lewis 2.Ishan kishan(wk)  3.Krunal Pandya  4.Rohit Sharma(C)  5.SuryaKumar Yadav 6.Keiron Pollard   7.Hardik Pandya 8.Ben Cutting  9.Rahul Chahar 10.Mistafizur Rehman  11.Jasprit Bumrah

Batting :- 8 batsman and All of them has hitting ability.

Bowling :-

Jasprit Bumrah 4 overs

Mustafizur Rehman 4 overs

Rahul Chahar 4 overs

Ben cutting + Krunal pandya + Hardik pandya 8 overs

Sunrisers Hyderabad Roasters :

SRH- The biggest squad as of now and the second best squad for me. A well settled team who has done quite well in recent years. A settled captain and opening combination along with bowlers like Bhuvi and Rashid make it incredibly strong. It also has Thampi who I am really impressed by. Definitely one of the Favorites.

Opening batsman:

Warner- Dhawan is a reputed and proved combination, and is one of the best opening pair amongst the eight teams.

Middle Order Batsmen:

Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson are perfect for middle order role. They both can play controlled innings, as well as attack if required.

They have uncapped Ricky Bhui, Tanmay Agarwal and Sachin Baby too.

Lower Middle Order:

This was an area they were lacking in, and they have covered it with nice blend of all rounders.

Mohammad Nabi and Shakib ul Hasan are proven T20 specialist.

Yusuf Pathan, Carlos Brathwaite and Deepak Hooda are all useful additions, who can both hit the ball hard.

Wicket Keeper:

While Wriddhiman Saha might not be the best batsman, his keeping skills are second to best (MSD). SRH is a bowling dependent team, and having a good keeper will help. They have a reserve in Sreevats Goswami.

Spinner:

Rashid Khan is one of the best leggie in the world this moment. Bipul Sharma was also good for them last season.

Fast Bowlers:

SRH has an army of fast bowlers in their disposal. Lead by India's best, Bhuvaneswar Kumar, they have experienced Sandeep Sharma and Siddharth Kaul to partner him.

They have many young upcoming Indian pacers like Thampi, Natarajan and Khleel Ahmed who can surprise the opposition.

Chris Jordan and Billy Stanlake are overseas options.

Other notable points:

  1. They have 11 players from their 2017 team, hence, their core is strongest among all teams.
  2. With many youngsters and good fielders, they have one of the best fielding units too.

MI and SRH the top two teams for me. CSK and RR are the other two I would watch out for.
